Bento — bento.me — was a link in bio page laid out as a grid of tiles instead of a stack of buttons. It is gone. Linktree acquired it and shut it down on 13 February 2026, profiles were deleted, and bento.me now redirects to linktr.ee. Those dates and consequences come from Bento's own shutdown notice.

What happened#
Linktree bought Bento in 2023 and ran it as a separate product for about two years. In December 2025 it announced the shutdown, gave users until 13 February 2026 to export, and offered a special Linktree Pro plan as the migration path. After that date the profile data was deleted and every bento.me link began redirecting to Linktree's homepage.
This is the second time Linktree has done this. It acquired Koji, another link in bio tool, and announced that Koji would sunset on 31 January 2024. Worth knowing if you are weighing which of the remaining tools to build on.
Linktree now has Collections with Stack, Grid, Carousel and Showcase layouts. That adds visual grouping, but it is not the same freeform mosaic that defined a Bento page.
If your links still point at bento.me#
They resolve to Linktree's homepage, not to your page and not to a 404. Anyone following a link you posted a year ago now lands on an advert for Linktree with no idea where you went. That makes this urgent in a way most tool migrations are not:
- Build the replacement page first, and check it on a phone.
- Update Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X — the profiles that send real traffic.
- Then email signatures, printed material and QR codes, which are the ones people forget.
If you exported before February, you have your content. If you did not, it is gone — Bento's data was deleted rather than archived, so there is nothing to recover and rebuilding by hand is the only route.
What replaces the grid#
Nothing does it exactly, which is why the shutdown annoyed people. The closest options:
- Linktree is where the redirect sends you, and it has added layout blocks since. It is a
stack by default, and the page stays at
linktr.ee/yourname— there is no custom domain on any tier. - Carrd will build a grid if you are willing to lay it out yourself. $19 a year for the tier with custom domains, and it rewards technical comfort.
- Beacons is a whole creator suite, which is far more product than a grid of tiles.
