What a link in bio actually is

A link in bio is a single page you link to from your social profiles, holding every destination you would otherwise have to choose between — your shop, your latest video, your contact form or your newsletter. It gives the rest of your work one consistent address across social platforms.

Instagram can hold multiple profile links, which covers a lot of people. A separate page earns its place when you want a designed page, link-level analytics, or one address that also works on TikTok, YouTube, QR codes and email signatures.

What belongs on it

Above the fold

Who you are, what you do in one sentence, and one thing to tap.

Three things, in that order. Everything else goes below, where the people who are already interested will find it. Most pages fail by putting nineteen equal buttons on one screen and letting the visitor decide — which they do, by leaving.

In practice that means a video leading the page, a contact form as the first action, or a gallery instead of a menu — whichever single thing you would rather a visitor did.

What it costs

Most tools in this category give away the links and charge for the identity: their logo stays on your page, the themes worth having sit behind a plan, and longer analytics history or exports are upgrades. Which means the free page is designed to look like a free page.

Stick draws the line somewhere else: every available block type, every theme and full per-block styling are in the free plan. What is free today stays free. We do not charge for a colour, a block or a layout — a free page should not have to look free.

We compared them on exactly that. Or go straight to what is free and what will not be, or the line-by-line against what you are using now: Stick vs Linktree, Stick vs Beacons, Stick vs Stan Store.
